US/Canada: M7.0 Earthquake Strikes Alaska and Canadian Border

A Magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck near the Alaska-Yukon border on Saturday afternoon, December 6, in the Kluane National Park area, with a shallow depth of five kilometers. The tremor was felt as a milder Magnitude 5.3 in Whitehorse, 250 kilometers away. The quake occurred around 1:41 p.m. and was followed by aftershocks. Officials reported no immediate damage or injuries, and no tsunami warning was issued.

A strong earthquake struck Kumamoto Prefecture at around 6:01 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, registering a maximum intensity of 5+ on the Japanese seismic scale. Guatemala: Sailor Rescues Two Stranded Foreigners in Pacific Waters

On October 6, 2025, in waters near Guatemala, a sailor turned his vessel around during a Pacific voyage after receiving a distress signal and rushed back to save two stranded foreigners. As his vessel approached, the two men were seen struggling on a small craft adrift in the Pacific. The video showed the sailor carefully pulling them aboard and offering assistance as they regained stability and safety. He later reported that a Guatemalan military speedboat arrived to take the rescued foreigners into custody for medical checks and transport.

ON JUNE 5, 1944 AT 11 P.M., THE AMERICAN ALLIED FORCES PARACHUTED ABOVE SAINTE-MERE-EGLISE DURING OPERATION OVERLORD. 15,000 MEN WERE DROPPED ON THE VILLAGE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS, MAINLY FROM THE US 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION, AS WELL AS NUMEROUS PARATROOPERS FROM THE 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION DUE TO DROP ERRORS. THE GERMANS SHOOT AT THE PARATROOPERS WHO FALL TO THE GROUND. JOHN STEELE, ONE OF THEM, WAS HIT IN THE FOOT BY A BULLET, COULD NOT CONTROL HIS PARACHUTE AND FINALLY LANDED ON THE CHURCH TOWER AROUND 4:00 A.M. HE TRIED TO FREE HIMSELF FROM HIS PARACHUTE WHILE IN THE SQUARE, ALL AROUND THE CHURCH, THE BATTLE RAGED. HE THEN DECIDED TO PLAY DEAD IN ORDER TO AVOID SERVING AS A TARGET FOR THE ENEMY.
